Anderson former Bobcat a Cavalier?

Former Charlotte Bobcat Alan Anderson has been working out with coach and trainer Joe Abunassar at Impact Basketball in Las Vegas alongside the likes of Kevin Garnett, Chauncey Billups, and Baron Davis as he prepares for his next challenge: playing for an NBA title with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
On Wednesday Anderson will work out for the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he says has reason to believe he’ll get more than just an invite to camp. He’s hoping to be playing alongside LeBron James and playing for a championship next season.
“You can’t ask for more than that – a team that’s always in the playoffs, a team that’s right there on their way to winning a championship, and then playing with one of the greatest players in the league – you can’t ask for more than that. I’m looking forward to working out for them, I’ll do my best, and hopefully they take me.”
In the mean time, Anderson is spending every second available at the gym, working hard to make sure he makes the right impression on the Cavaliers. It doesn’t hurt that he has guys like Kevin Garnett, Antoine Walker, and Cavalier Damon Jones working out with him and giving him pointers.

Lebron Serious About His Shooting

During the FIBA Americas Tournament in Vegas, Lebron shooting has been impressive. He is shooting 79% from the field and 70% from the 3-point land..

Brian Windhorst of the Akron Beacon Journal discussed Lebron’s shooting on his blog:

“LeBron hinted a few times at the end of last season that he wanted to hire a shooting coach, which was the answer to many Cavs’ fans prayers. He didn’t hire one, he has been working very hard this summer whenever he’s gotten free hours with Chris Jent, the Cavs’ director of development. This, of course, thrills the Cavs not just because he’s working on his game when he could be relaxing, but because he’s doing it with their guy. This becomes important during the season because Jent will be around him everyday.”

Team USA Cruise Past Argentina

It was Kobe Bryant who took the spot light in a strong start by scoring 27 points, 15 of them in the first quarter as Team USA cruised into the semifinals of the FIBA tournament as the N. 1 seed.

Lebron James added 15 points and Carmelo Anthony added 18 points in the 91-76 victory over Argentina.

Team USA will face Puerto Rico in Saturday’s second semifinal game. A victory there gives them a berth in the 2008 Olympics in China.

“It was a little stagnant at the start and I came out and got hot early and we rode that for a little bit and helped us get off to a quick start,” Bryant said. “We’re close to accomplishing our goal.”

Metro Cafe – The Place To Be

Table 17 in the saloon side of the Metropolitan Cafe is the best perch in all of Cleveland for people watching, especially on a late summer day, locals insist.

But it’s a tough seat to snag. Floor to ceiling windows look out on West 6th and St. Clair in the buzzing downtown Warehouse District.

“It’s the hottest corner in the city and this is the best bar, bar none,” said banker Ken Ake, who was sharing Oregon pinot noirs with a stunning woman, no doubt discussing Fed policy and the melting mortgage loan market.
In many bars, pro athletes often huddle by themselves in a corner, behind a heavily guarded velvet rope. At the Metro, King James — aka LeBron of the Cleveland Cavaliers — drops by after a game and prefers the view from Table 17.

“He’s friendly and approachable and doesn’t drink,” she said. “And when the Yankees are in town to play the Indians, shortstop Derek Jeter and catcher Jorge Posada are in every night and very cool.”

When Denzel Washington was in town shooting a movie, he’d come in for a nibble and to chase his thirst.

“Simply one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met,” Angela said.

Lebron James Shooting The Lights Out

Lebron James is shooting 79% on 47 for 59 from the field. 14 of his 20 three-pointers found their way to the basket, that is 70% from the 3-point land.

Last night when Team USA played Uruguay, he shot 11 for 11 and made all of his four three pointers. That is all in 14 minutes of play time. All starters rested the entire second half. You can watch Lebron’s perfect game here.

David Trope said Lebron is more focused on balance and follow through. Also, he suggests that he is “facing players who are not used to dealing with him. He’s just so overpowering. With his speed, size, skill level … for the players he’s playing against, it has to be very very very difficult for those guys to imagine what it’s like to play against him. There’s no way to prepare.” he said in his interview with TrueHoop.com.

Lebron Nothing But Perfect Against Uruguay

LeBron James scored 26 points against Uruguay to lead USA Team to a 118-79 victory.

Lebron was 11 of 11 from the field and made all his 3-ponts attempts, and that was all done in the first half.

James raised his tournament-leading shooting percentage to an almost comical 79.7 percent (47-of-59). He is 14-of-20 from 3-point range, a 70 percent mark that also leads the event.

The Americans will face fellow unbeaten Argentina on Thursday in the final game of the second round. A victory would send the United States into Saturday’s semifinals as the No. 1 seed.
