I have received a lot of emails lately asking about the little icon displayed on our site and almost every news site you visit these days. This icon is the standard icon for RSS Feeds.
So, what is RSS Feed and how do you use it?
RSS feeds bring you automatically updated information straight to your RSS reader. You can monitor news, blogs, job listings, personals, and classifieds.
RSS feeds can be identified by this standard icon similar to the one displayed on CavsNews or a button that says either RSS or XML. Most likely, you will get a page full of code when you click on these links.
So what do you need to take advantage of this great technology?
To properly read the feed, you need an RSS reader. Today, there are thousands of different feed reading applications, also known as “news aggregators” There are even readers that work exclusively on mobile devices.
One of my favorite is Google Reader. Google Reader shows you all of your favorite sites in one convenient place. It’s like a personalized inbox for the entire web. Or you can use one of these popular readers:
